in Olivia's words.

Olivia: Mommy, my tummy hurts.

Me: It does? I wonder whats wrong with it?

Olivia: It said it wants you to come lay with me and then it will feel better!

Me: We can do something special tonight since swimming lessons were cancelled. Would you like that?

Olivia: Yes.

Me: Okay. What shall we do?

Olivia: We can go swimming!

Olivia: Mom will you clean up this mess? There are toys all over!

Andy: Whoa there, killer (to Carter as he tried to lunge off his lap)

Olivia: Who is killer?

Andy: Carter is.

Olivia: Daddy, his name is not killer. It's Carter Louis Allen!

At breakfast this morning.....

"Jesus was here last night, mama. He was in the rocking chair with us when we rocked before night night."

Me: Sit right here, baby girl,

Olivia: Mom, I'm not your baby! Carter is your baby!

wordless wednesday.

a trip for the family memory book.

We have just returned from a (sort of) spontaneous trip to Key West.

We weren't sure till the week prior if we were going or not, and then the morning of there was uncertainty if we'd actually get a spot on the plane. I can only imagine Olivia's disappointment if we didn't get a spot considering the tantrum she threw when we left to go get breakfast after we checked in. She wanted to get on the airplane that exact second and couldn't understand why we were leaving base! And on that note, I would have been very frustrated if I had done all of that packing and prep work for nothing! However, we DID get to go and made so many wonderful memories together.

Here is a sneak preview to our trip.....

We flew on "daddy's airplane", also known as a C-17! Olivia was completely impressed.

There was pool time, beach time, drinks, new sights (Olivia learned what a palm tree was. She spent her first 2 years living in Charleston, but still had to ask what "those trees" were called), seafood, and precious time together as a family of four.

If you need us, we'll be digging for treasures.

Grandma and Grandpa got Olivia a sandbox for her birthday. She couldn't be more thrilled! She spent the entire evening "digging for treasures" the night Andy got the sandbox all put together.

Carter mostly just tries to climb out! (over the highest ledge, of course)
