We had a box at our front step this morning that created an afternoon of fun!
My Uncle Jeff, and his new wife Jill, (remember when we went to their wedding?) sent us a cookie decorating kit from Cheryl & Co. Talk about simple and delicious! I wish cookie decorating was always like this. I opened the tubs of frosting, divided up the myriad of sprinkle choices, and let Olivia decorate her heart out! There were trees, ornaments, and snowflake cookies to choose from.
Carter had a great time hanging out in his high chair being silly and begging for more cookies to eat :)

We also had a package left at our front step after dinner! It came all the way from the North Pole! The Christmas excitement has hit a new level now that we have Bus the Elf living with us! Great name, huh?! Her first choice was 'Aunt Jill' so we encouraged Bus when she suggested, and liked it. Haha.

Santa wrote a little letter talking about how he is getting ready to celebrate Jesus' birthday by delivering toys to all boys and girls. He sent this elf to live with us to help us remember to make good choices, but also to remind us about God's grace and love.
Twice tonight Olivia changed her behavior and said "the elf is going to tell Santa that I was doing what God wants by obeying your words"! Let's hope that sticks because we've been having some defiance problems and I could use a little break from the stressful parenting!
We will see what sort of trouble Bus will get into tonight and what Olivia will have to say to him about his choices! I've found some super cute ideas on Pinterest about simple mischief for our elf to get into at night, so I will share some with you as we do them.
