Patty Cake
Clapping Girl from Stephanie Allen on Vimeo.
Olivia learned to clap from her cousin Jordan this week! She gets so excited when we sing 'Patty Cake' and loves to clap along. Disclaimer on the mismatched outfit - her dress had been taken off for her afternoon nap ;)

birthday week!
Olivia and I have been having a fantastic time in Oklahoma this week with Cathy, Andy, and their three munchkins (Eli, Drew, & Jordan). Nana is here and Papa arrives tonight! hooray! If only the Scher family could join us too. The fun has been non-stop and the theme is baby, baby, baby!!!! Olivia has been having a ball playing with her cousins and I have taken lots of pictures and video to document the memories.
Hard to believe that the triplets arrived a year ago (this coming Saturday). Such a bittersweet time as we celebrate the miracles that Drew and Jordan are and continue to mourn losing Brady. I will post some of the cuteness upon our return. However, here is a picture from my phone to get you through until then.....

bottoms up!
This is what I found when I stopped by to tuck Baby Girl in one last time last night....
Snuggled in on her belly and knees with her bottom up in the air.
A-dorable!

sports girl...
I have found myself wondering if we have a sports girl on our hands. Baby Girl has promoted her toy balls to the top of her 'favorties' list. The IU ball that I described HERE has become Olivia's obsession lately. She chases it around the living room, grins anytime she sees it, and tries like mad to get the entire thing stuffed in her mouth. She also has a pink baseball that Daddy bought her for Valentine's day and a random blue ball that somehow made it home in our luggage from our trip to Indiana at Christmas.
Today I watched her tip over her toy bin and then selectively pick out each ball one by one. She had zero interest in the other toys piled at her feet. She had eyes ONLY for those three balls. She then proceeded to sit and rotate her chewing/gnawing between them; as if she didn't want to leave one out. At least she plays fair;)
And it seems that her other new hobby is getting into the diaper bin. She makes her way over to it multiple times a day and proceeds to chew and drool over each and every diaper. Yuck! Perhaps I should keep a closer eye on her! ha.

night in Savannah
We went on an overnight trip to visit Andy this past weekend. We had a nice time walking around downtown and spending time together as a family. We are in the middle of four weeks apart, so any moments we can sneak together are special.

sleep update
For those who have asked - Sleep training is still on hold. Instead of getting a full nights sleep and making strides towards our ultimate goal, we have been focused on antibiotics for ear infections, nebulizer treatments for wheezing/coughing, and snuggles from mommy to get through multiple night wake-ups.
We will get back on track when Baby Girl is healthy again!

Night Two
Night Two
February 18, 2010
6:55pm - 4:35am: baby sleeping peacefully, mommy thinks "score, we missed the 1-3am wake-up!"
4:36am: baby begins to wimper/cry out softly, noted to be snuggled up on belly with bottom in the air, this continues on and off for about 15 minutes
4:51: mommy decides to go in and give some love pats to help re-settle
4:52: baby noted to seem hot, temperature taken (100.6) with congestion noted
4:53: all sleep training plans are officially off for the night! tylenol given, nursing, snuggling, and loving provided
4:54 - 7:28am: baby up twice in this time frame and comforting provided each time (even though fever noted to be gone) because mommy's must always snuggle when baby isn't feeling well......
SCORE: Baby Girl 2; Mommy zero
p.s. thanks for the supportive comments thus far!
